How to request a diamond price match

  1. Match the grading lab and full report number

Keep any letters at the start of the number. Carat weight and matching grades alone can describe several different stones.

  2. Compare what you’ll pay

Check the listed price, shipping, tax and any duty for the same delivery address. Compare payment terms, delivery and returns before choosing a seller.

  3. Send the original retailer’s offer

Bring the grading report, direct retailer link, published price, and current stock confirmation. Ask for the matched total and how long the quote is valid.

Check the retailer’s terms first

Rare Carat asks for a matching report number, a publicly available price, and evidence that the diamond is in stock. It asks shoppers to request the match before purchasing. Rare Carat price-match policy ↗

Blue Nile reviews comparable diamonds and asks for the actual retailer’s offer link and grading report. The lower price needs to be current and available to the public. Blue Nile price-match terms ↗
